Nancy O'Dell's debut work in the industry of broadcast was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She then worked as an anchor in the morning and a reporter on WCBD TV. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston on how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with leniency resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict directive for state authorities. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with her Best Report of the year Award for every aspect of South Carolina media. O'Dell then worked for the Miami-based NBC station WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of weekend co-anchor. Additionally, she is co-anchor for Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-shows and arrivals shows to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Co-hosted The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
